ART, LINSEY LARIMORE Hello! I am a firm believer in the arts being a critical part of education to allow students to better express themselves, think critically, and become creative problem solvers. It is so great to be in a school district that really appreciates the value of art education! I got my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After college, I lived in Aspen, CO where I taught for the first time and decided that education was my calling. I got my teaching credential at San Francisco State and worked for 6 years as a Spanish-bilingual teacher in the mission district of San Francisco. During that time, I also got a master’s in education with an art focus and a teaching credential in art. In 2009, I specialized in art education and even started my own art education business in 2015. On a personal level, I grew up in Santa Rosa, CA and was inspired to get into art by my grandmother and mom, who are watercolor artists. Growing up I spent most of my time involved in sports, traveling, and trying out new art forms, of which ceramics and printmaking became my favorites. In 2009, my husband Kevin and I got married and a few year later we started a family. We have 2 daughters, Zoey and Quinn, and we currently live in Petaluma.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION, JIM FAGUNDES Hello, my name is Coach Jim. I am very happy to be the PE specialist here at Dixie School. I’d like to share a little background on me and how I ended up here at Dixie. I went to Archbishop Mitty High School and played football, and from there I went Santa Rosa Junior College where I studied theater arts and played football. At SRJC I was involved in starting a house with two guys with special needs where I was in charge of nutrition, activities and their overall well-being. I went back to school to finish my BA, and plan to get my Physical Education Credential. I have taught and coached in schools at all levels; including varsity basketball for over 20 years. I've been a PE teacher at Twin Hills Middle School, Hidden Valley School, St. John's School. I have been an active coach in my community as well for several years, coaching basketball camps every year. I am now the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Albany High School. I live in Sebastopol, with a son in 6th grade and a daughter in 8th at Twin Hills Middle School. My wife teaches Special Education at Twin Hills. I love teaching our students to be confident, enthusiastic and I believe everyone can learn how to be a leader. "Whether you think you can or you think you can't - you're right" , Henry Ford. I really enjoy working at Dixie School and I appreciate Can Do! supporting my wonderful teaching position. Stop by and say hello next time you are on campus!

Beth LaDove is a lifelong gardener, landscape designer and educator whose work in the garden world has been featured in Sunset Magazine, the New York Times, SF Chronicle, Marin Magazine among others. Her time in the garden has included everything from growing specialty crops for Chez Panisse to teaching people around the world the essentials of good gardening. After exiting from the online garden education company she co-founded (when the content she created was acquired by an NBCUniversal company) Beth has turned her attention to giving back to her local community. Because she deeply believes in the power of gardens to positively shape and impact young lives, she now consults with schools and also volunteers to teach gardening to incarcerated youth. Beth looks forward to being a resource for the Dixie community—to the students, teachers, and parents alike!
