Important information about the Dixie School Library
- All classes come to the library once a week for 30 minutes.
- Kindergarteners are allowed to check out one book and keep it for one week.
- Grades 1-5 are allowed to check out two books. They can keep their books for two weeks. However, if students finish their books early, they are encouraged to return them and pick new books.
- Students are allowed to check out one extra book if there is a special project they are working on for their class (book report, research project, etc.).
- Our library is fantastic, but limited. In an effort to ensure that books are available for our students, we cannot allow parents and other family members to check out books. Only students and teachers may check out books from the Dixie Library and we are only open during school hours.
- Overdue notices will be sent home via email. Please try to return books on time. If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the replacement cost is included on the overdue notice. Please make checks payable to "Dixie Library" or send exact cash amount in a sealed envelope - include the student's name and book title on the outside of the envelope.
- We will only hold books for kinergarten students. If your student forgets to return his/her library book(s) on the scheduled library day, he/she can come check out new books when the other books are returned.
- The Birthday Book Club is a great way to help support our library! Sign-up sheets are available by clicking on "Birthday Book Club" or in the school office. Thank you to Michelle Kakleas for organizing the program again this year!
