Dixie School is nestled among the rolling, oak-studded hills of Lucas Valley in Marin County. The neighborhood is well maintained and for the most part housing is of the single family Eichler design.
Dixie is a K–5 California Distinguished School and was recently named a National Blue Ribbon School. Total student enrollment is approximately 360. Our API score for the 2009 school year is 933.
The current teaching staff of 20 includes a full-time Resource Specialist and Speech Therapist. The staff also includes 7 instructional assistants and 12 district faculty support staff (Resource Assistant, SDC Assistant, Speech and Language, Psychologist. New Perspectives, Physical Education 2-5, 3 - 5 Theater Arts Program, Art Specialist K-2, Art Specialist 3-5, Technology Coordinator, K - 2 Music Specialist, Music Facilitator for district music program grades 3-5).
